1. The Method of His Teaching

Jesus spoke to people at this time in parables.  A parable is a method of teaching that lays one truth down alongside another truth.  Jesus gives a truth in the natural world and then makes an application to the spiritual world. A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.

   At this time Jesus is about to give seven parables.  They are called the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.  A mystery in the Bible is some spiritual truth that you could not know by human discernment, by human logic, by human computation.  It can only be known through the leading and teaching of the Holy Spirit.
