The Innkeeper missed Christmas because he was Ignorant Preoccupied. 

 

Herod missed Christmas  because he was Fearfully Jealous.

 

The chief priest and scribes missed Christmas because of self-righteous indifference.

C.S. Lewis said “Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance, the only thing it cannot be is moderately important.”

 

 

 

 

1. I.                    HE BRINGS THE LIGHT OF LIBERTY TO THOSE IN DARKNESS

 

John 1: 4-5 says In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The lights shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 

 

1. II.                  HE BRINGS THE LIGHT OF LIFE TO THOSE UNDER DEATH

 

John 8:12 Jesus says he is the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

 

III. HE BRINGS THE LIGHT OF LEADERSHIP TO THOSE WITHOUT DIRECTION

Proverbs 3: 5-6 

⁵ Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
    and do not lean on your own understanding.
⁶ In all your ways acknowledge him,
    and he will make straight your paths.

Psalms 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
    and a light to my path

 

John 14: 6

⁶ Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
